The school Sosekido (素石堂) was formed by my sensei, Unkotsu Komine (小峰雲骨) many years ago. I was 13 years old when I first met him, and it was the beginning of my long-time calligraphy path.
I woke up late. When I opened the blinds, I saw the floor of the patio was wet. It’d been raining. Spring rain. The air gave us an impression of the spring in the last few days and then it has drawn us back to the winter a little bit. Yes, it’s still March and we probably had too much expectation for the winter to end.
The rain continued until the late afternoon but suddenly the thick cloud cracked open and a sun beam showed up. At the end, we seem to have a nice weekend. Before I go for a walk, I write the word “雨(Ame/rain)” so that I can remember the rainy Saturday morning.
I like rain although I’m not a big fan of downpour. But the soft rain that covers the pavements and leaves makes me feel a little ennui. It’s not a bad excuse to stay home and being lazy. Let’s….
