The other side of the pain
In the Saturday midnight, suddenly I was inspired and opened my calligraphy mat. I lit the candle and an incense. Put them around the calligraphy mat and spread the rolled paper. With the BGM of Calle 13 to give me a little strength.
On the boxing day last year, I bought a bicycle frame for a little money. It had only a back wheel (at least) and I had to carry it on my arm for 45 minutes by foot. I’ve bought a front wheel and a pipe to set the seat. I still need some parts to be able to run. A boyfriend of a friend trains for triathlon and likes maintaining bikes. He offered me a help to put the light and fix the gear. I thought I can give him a calligraphy as a gift.
“痛みを乗り越えた先に、希望がある” (Itami wo norikoeta saki ni kibou ga aru)
It says, after overcoming the pain, there is a hope.
This is a quote of Kounosuke Matsushita (松下幸之助) who founded Panasonic. I didn´t know him but I was looking for some quote about pain because the guy who helps me likes the word “pain”. As I said he trains for triathlon most of the weekday and every weekends he cycles hours even if it rains. All of us laughed when he told us he likes pain. Then I found this quote.
Maybe he sees hope the other side of the pain. Pain is just a moment but perhaps he sees bigger happiness beyond it. When I found this, I felt like I understood his theory a little.
I’ve just received an email from the friend and told me the bike will be ready by next weekend. My calligraphy will be ready too.
