The school Sosekido (素石堂) was formed by my sensei, Unkotsu Komine (小峰雲骨) many years ago. I was 13 years old when I first met him, and it was the beginning of my long-time calligraphy path.
How is your new year so far? We have many adventures waiting ahead in 2014.
In calligraphy world, the first day you write is called Kakizome(書き初め), literary, the first writing. Usually it’s on the 2nd of January and quite common that people write new year’s resolutions or some words related to the New Year, such as Shoukatsu (正月/New Year), Hatsu-yume (初夢/the first dream) or Hatsu Hinode (初日の出/ the first sunrise).
Last year, Sosekidoheld the first Kakizome day in Berlin and many people came. I like to continue this tradition this year too but this year will be a little more casual.
I like to invite you to our Open class day for Kakizome. Our first class is on the 8th of January and this day, anyone who like to have a calligraphy experience can join our class. If you are interested in, just send me a message that you are coming. Only you need to bring is your new year resolution and I have the rest. We can practice it together. Hope to see you there!

Hello, I would like to come to the Kakizome today. I hope it is ok. This is very late notice but I only just saw this on Facebook.
