The school Sosekido (素石堂) was formed by my sensei, Unkotsu Komine (小峰雲骨) many years ago. I was 13 years old when I first met him, and it was the beginning of my long-time calligraphy path.
2013 is nearly to the end. People will soon (or already) start running around for the Christmas preparations. In Japan, Christmas has been popular and has become Japanese custom and yet, the New Year is more important. What more excited about on the New Year’s day as a child was checking how many New Year greeting cards I got as well as getting New Year special pocket money.
Nowadays it’s becoming more common sending emails or messages through Facebook but still many people make their own original New Year cards and send them to the family or friends. I think it’s a good tradition.
2014 is a year of horse. I’ve made several greeting card designs, which are available from Mangosalute. They can be something different from usual New Year cards.
